Meet Jeff
Building financial clarity. Developing organizational capability. Creating confidence for the long horizon.
Thanks for taking the time to learn a little more about me.
Over the past four decades, I've had the privilege of serving organizations across manufacturing, telecommunications, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, private equity, and executive advisory. I've worked with Fortune 100 companies, family-owned businesses, boards of directors, founders, and mission-driven organizations. While each industry has been different, one purpose has remained remarkably consistent: helping leaders bring clarity to complexity.
I founded BlackTangra Advisory because I believe finance is far more than accounting and reporting. At its best, finance provides the structure that allows organizations to grow with confidence, make wise decisions, develop people, and remain faithful to their mission. My work focuses on helping leadership teams strengthen financial architecture and organizational design, improve operational excellence, and create long-term value through thoughtful stewardship.
Throughout my career, I've helped organizations navigate both growth and adversity — rapid expansion, private equity transactions, organizational transformation, ERP implementations, liquidity planning, governance development, strategic capital decisions, and enterprise finance redesign. I've also learned firsthand that the greatest successes are rarely measured only by financial results. They're measured by stronger leaders, healthier organizations, and people who are better equipped to serve others.
My leadership philosophy
I believe organizations thrive when people understand both the mission and the financial story behind it.
I believe leadership begins by listening.
I believe finance should create clarity rather than complexity.
I believe systems exist to support people — not the other way around.
I believe long-term stewardship consistently creates better decisions than short-term optimization.
Most importantly, I believe every organization deserves financial leadership that develops capability rather than dependency.
Beyond the office
My faith, family, and community shape both my life and my work. I am an Eastern Orthodox Christian, and that perspective has deeply influenced my understanding of stewardship, service, humility, and caring for people entrusted to our leadership. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family, mentoring emerging leaders, writing, teaching, and caring for our small ranch with our horses, dogs, and cat. Those quiet moments provide perspective and remind me that leadership begins with faithfully caring for what has been entrusted to us.
Why BlackTangra?
The name BlackTangra — and the golden ratio spiral at the center of our mark — reflects a simple belief: organizations, like the golden ratio itself, grow best in proportion, over time, not through isolated bursts.
Financial strength, healthy cultures, capable leaders, and enduring businesses aren't created through isolated initiatives — they're built through consistent stewardship, thoughtful planning, and disciplined execution over many years. That's the long horizon the name points to.
That philosophy guides every client relationship, every engagement, and every conversation.
Whether serving as a CFO, advisor, coach, or strategic partner, my goal is always the same:
To help leaders build organizations that endure, develop people who thrive, and create lasting value for the communities they serve.
I appreciate your visit and would be honored to learn more about your organization, your goals, and how BlackTangra Advisory may be able to serve you.
